The mental load that most mom's carry isn't just about chores that need to be done - laundry, grocery shopping, etc. It's also about the perpetual mental awareness of schedules including early release days, carpools, doctors' appointments, special events, what is everyone wearing to the special events, parties, gifts for the party, etc, etc. And those are only some of the items on the family list that require a working mother's constant mental presence. Moms tend to be the unofficial keepers of where the entire family needs to be and when and perpetual guardians against anything falling through the cracks. It is overwhelming and can be A LOT!
