Andrew, PT at Olympia Chiropractic & Physical Therapy โ€“ Sycamore, goes through a couple of simple exercises for the wrist, especially helpful when tingling develops from prolonged desk work.

To help alleviate wrist tightness and protect the nerves, Andrew demonstrates two exercises and two stretches:

Seated dumbbell wrist curls to strengthen the forearm and support wrist stability.

Wrist extensor stretches to reduce tension from repetitive typing and mouse use.

These movements can help improve circulation, reduce strain on the wrist and forearm, and support healthier nerve functionโ€”especially for those spending long hours at a desk.

In our Bartlett location, moments like this remind us why we do what we do ๐Ÿ˜Š

This photo of Alicia working with our Physical Therapist, Geetha, was taken about 9 months ago and shared through one of our Google reviews. Itโ€™s a small snapshot, but it represents a lot of consistency, effort, and progress behind the scenes.

Dr. Manpreet Kullar of Olympia Chiropractic & Physical Therapy โ€“ Sycamore adjusts Amber, a long-time patient of our chiropractic office, as she shares her journey.

โ€œI came here a few years ago. I sit for long hours, and I had so much tension in my upper back and shoulders. I was experiencing numbness in my arm and had difficulty turning my neck from side to side. Since Iโ€™ve been coming here, Iโ€™ve regained mobility, and I donโ€™t feel any numbness anymore.โ€

Amber notes that she still experiences lumbar discomfort from sitting all day, which is why she continues her care. With ongoing stress contributing to upper back tightness, Dr. Kullar performs a full-body adjustment and spinal decompression to support better movement, reduce tension, and help the spine handle daily demands more efficiently.

This highlights how consistent chiropractic care can support mobility, nerve health, and stress-related muscle tension, especially for those with prolonged sitting routines.

Dry needling sounds intense, but the goal is actually relief ๐Ÿ‘€

Dry needling is a technique used to target tight, overactive muscles that are not relaxing on their own. These areas, often called trigger points, can limit movement, create pain, and cause other muscles to overwork.

By placing a very thin needle directly into the affected muscle, dry needling helps the tissue reset. This can reduce tension, improve blood flow, and allow the muscle to function normally again ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿฆด

It is commonly used for
โœ… Chronic muscle tightness
โœ… Neck and back pain
โœ… Sports related strain
โœ… Headaches
โœ… Movement restrictions that keep returning

Dry needling is not acupuncture and it is not meant to treat energy pathways. It is based on anatomy and muscle function, and it works best when paired with movement and rehabilitation.

At Olympia Chiropractic & Physical Therapy, dry needling is used as part of a larger plan to help the body move better, recover faster, and avoid the cycle of recurring pain.

If stretching and rest are not enough anymore, this may be the missing piece.

Dr. Manpreet Kullar of Olympia Chiropractic & Physical Therapy โ€“ Sycamore talks about prenatal chiropractic care and why it matters during pregnancy.

Prenatal care is safe, specific, and gentle, and it focuses on helping keep the spine and nervous system functioning properly. As the body adapts to pregnancy, chiropractic care can support back comfort, improve alignment, and help the body better manage those physical changes. The goal is better movement and support for the mother as her body continues to change throughout pregnancy.

When the spine is moving well, the body can adapt more efficientlyโ€”helping expectant mothers stay as comfortable and mobile as possible during this important time.

Patients at Olympia often come in for pain relief, but stay because they start moving and feeling better overall ๐Ÿ‘€

Chiropractic care is not just about addressing discomfort. It helps improve how joints move, supports the nervous system, and reduces unnecessary strain on the body. Over time, this leads to better mobility, fewer flare ups, and more confidence in movement.

Our approach focuses on understanding why a problem started and building care that supports long term change, not short term fixes.

That constant tightness youโ€™re feeling is your body asking for a reset ๐Ÿ‘€

Stress, long days, workouts, and everyday life all add up in the muscles. Over time, that tension can affect how you move, how you sleep, and how you feel overall.

Massage therapy helps reduce muscle tension, improve circulation, and give your nervous system a chance to calm down. It is not just about relaxation. It supports recovery, mobility, and overall well being.

At Olympia Chiropractic & Physical Therapy, massage is often used alongside chiropractic care and physical therapy to help your body recover more fully and hold onto progress longer.

If youโ€™re feeling stiff, sore, or just need time to recharge, this is your reminder to take care of your body.

Are you experiencing mid-back tightness?

Nisha, PTA at Olympia Chiropractic and Physical Therapy โ€“ Bartlett, shares three simple exercises to help improve thoracic mobility and reduce mid-back stiffness.

1. Thoracic Extension (Foam Roller)
Place half of a foam roller under your shoulder blades. Cross your arms, keep your face forward, and gently extend your back over the roller to mobilize the mid-back. Perform 2 sets of 10 reps.

2. Open Book Stretch
Lie on your side and rotate your upper body toward the opposite side, focusing on opening the chest and squeezing the shoulder blades together. Perform 2 sets of 10 reps on each side.

3. Thread the Needle
From a hands-and-knees position, reach one arm through across your body, then rotate and reach that same arm up toward the ceiling. This encourages thoracic rotation and coordination. Perform 2 sets of 10 reps on each side.

When done with control and proper breathing, these movements can help support posture, spinal mobility, and overall mid-back comfort.
