⭐️📣Meet Our Program Director, Dr. Kellogg! 📣⭐️

Residency: Johns Hopkins Hospital

Graduate Degree: MS in Medical Education, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine

Hometown: Chappaqua, NY

Interests in EM: Education and EMS

Interests outside of EM: Spending time with my family – I have 2 small children, 2 large dogs, and 3 normal-sized cats. Weightlifting, woodworking, painting miniature soldiers.

Anything else you would like to share about yourself or the program: I’ve been at Arnot since 2016. I came here because I wanted to teach at a small community hospital. I believe that rural communities desperately need well-trained EM physicians and that training at a hospital like Arnot is terrific preparation for working in these critical underserved environments.

Next up in our meet the residents series: Chief Resident Tim Fields!

Hometown: Seattle, WA

Year: PGY 3

Why I love Emergency Medicine: I like working with my hands, and getting to fix so many different problems. Taking an ugly fracture, reducing it, and putting a splint on someone, or else turning a jagged gash into a nicely sutured laceration, and getting to send the patient home afterwards.

Plans after residency: Would like to do more work with EMS. Either formally by completing an EMS/Disaster Management fellowship, or else by working clinically and being a medical director for the local EMS service, and be involved in paramedic teaching.

Interests: Skiing, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Horseback Riding

Fun Fact: I custom built most of the furniture for my apartment in the time between finishing med school and starting residency.

Most embarrassing residency moment: Taking a complete history and physical on the wrong patient because I didn’t verify that the patient’s name matched the patient’s room number.
