After nearly 80 years of serving our Elmira community, we've closed our doors and will no longer be serving families. For the time being, our business office will remain open for anyone with questions or who may need assistance.

We were founded in 1946 by Robert L. and Louise Smith Olthof, and through three generations of family dedication, we became a trusted name in compassionate care and service. Through the decades, the Olthof family built a legacy rooted in kindness, professionalism, and respect for every family served.

To our Elmira community and all the families who have placed their trust in us since 1946, we extend our heartfelt thanks. It has been our privilege and honor to serve you through the generations.

Did you know that, according to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime? Thanks to advances in early detection and treatment, survival rates have improved significantly. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we stand in support of survivors, those currently fighting, and we remember the loved ones we have lost to this disease.

Our Story

For over 70 years, we have had the incredible honor of serving the families of our community. Beginning in 1946, our founders, Robert L. and Louise Olthof, felt the calling to provide Elmira with dignified and memorable funeral services that truly honored their loved ones. Three generations of Olthofs later, and we are still proudly helping those to celebrate and tell the stories of lives well lived.

We understand that when you come to us, you are going through one of life’s most difficult moments. That is why it is our goal to treat each and every family as if they were our own. Whatever type of tribute you choose, we will be here alongside you every step of the way. Our ministry does not end either when your loved one’s service is over. We are also always here for you to assist in your healing afterwards. No matter what, we are always humbled that you have allowed our family to serve your family.

If you are at your moment of need or would like to plan ahead with us, please feel free to call us at (607) 733-7566.
