“You’re too young for perimenopause.”
Translation: “I wasn’t trained to recognize it, so I’m going to dismiss you instead.”
The tired. The rage. The 3am wake-ups. The cycles that suddenly don’t make sense. The anxiety that came out of nowhere. You finally say it out loud at your appointment and get told you’re “too young for that.”
No, you’re not.
Perimenopause can start in your mid-30s. The average woman spends nearly a decade in it before her final period.
If you’re being told you’re too young, you’re being told by the wrong person.
