Adding these herbs to your horses' water or feed can encourage them to drink while also keeping them healthy.

The adrenal glands of the horse play a crucial role in the horse's ability to properly regulate stress.

The adrenal glands produce the stress hormone called cortisol.

Cortisol is necessary for the horse to be able to respond to both short-term and long-term stress. Long-term stress can have very detrimental effects on your horse including:

Weakening of the immune system

Reduced physical performance

Ulcers

Laminitis

Cushing's Disease

Helping your horse properly regulate stress and cortisol production is crucial to maintain their well-being. EquiHerbal's StressArrest is specifically designed to support the adrenal glands and help your horse destress. To purchase StressArrest call Kayla at 970-596-7443.

Did you know Hippocrates (considered the father of modern medicine) was an herbalist?

Hippocrates used herbs extensively when treating patients. Some of his more commonly used herbs included fennel, cinnamon, clove, sage, garlic, and valerian.

Hippocrates was a proponent of using simple herbal formulas and keeping treatments uncomplicated.

The philosophy of Hippocrates can be found today in the practices of herbalists - we seek to treat the whole body as natural intended with simple, effective remedies.

Fun facts about equine vision:

They are dichromates. Meaning they see colors similar to the way a person who is considered color blind sees.

They have a significantly larger field of vision than humans do. They can see almost 350 degrees around themselves. A human's field of vision is about 180 degrees. See picture below.

Horses have very good night vision. If you are lost at night on your horse trust him to see what you cannot.

Horse's depth perception is not as good as ours because of the placement of their eyes.

Horses can develop vision problems just like humans can. A wonderful herb to help equine vision is 'Eyebright'.
