NAMI-PC provides advocacy by; assisting individuals in navigating the behavioral health system and obtaining the services they need. We provide these services to our local communities using NAMI's signature programs. While NAMI-PC is a relatively small group at this time, we provide two support groups. NAMI Connections – a support group for those suffering with mental illness (consumers). NAMI Fam
ily Support Group – a support group for family members or loved ones of those suffering with mental illness. We will be starting a class called Family-To-Family soon. NAMI Family-to-Family is a class for families, partners and friends of individuals with mental illness. The course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of mental illness, increase coping skills and empower participants to become advocates for their family members. This program was designated as an evidence-based program by SAMHSA. The course is also available in Spanish, De Familia a Familia de NAMI.
