Sorry for the late post, we have been waiting for the official list of all the great Mutual Aid partners that assisted us with our historic situation that occurred Saturday evening into Sunday morning. While words can't even begin to describe our gratitude we want to thank each Department that was able to come and assist us. Without each of you this already tragic event would of been far worse. Thank you
Lincoln County MO Sheriff’s Office, Elsberry Police Department , Missouri Department of Conservation,Winfield Foley Fire Protection, Lincoln County Fire Protection District #1, Eolia Community Fire Protection District ,O'Fallon Fire Protection District , Lake St. Louis Fire Protection Districn, Wentzville Fire Protection District, St. Charles County Fire, Wright City Fire Protection District, Central County Fire Department, Lincoln County Ambulance District Lincoln County Emergency Management, Lincoln County Dispatch, Lincoln County Road and Bridge Department, City of Elsberry Maintenance Crews, Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), Ameren Missouri – Linemen, Cuivre River Electric Cooperative – Linemen!
We also want to give a huge shout out to Paul Labanca for getting out of bed in the middle of the night during historic flooding to drive a school bus to shuttle our citizens, that were pulled out of their flooded homes, from the staging areas to the shelter at the Methodist Church!

We would also like to thank Southern Grace Coffee, Shooters Saloon, the Methodist Church, their amazing volunteers, and the members of city hall that came out to help for opening up their establishments to help shelter and stage victims. They provided shelter, food, coffee and a small sense of security in a hopeless situation.

Last but definitely not least we want thank our own Firefighters for answering the call and giving their all. Our Firefighters not only showed up and gave everything they had during the flooding, they stayed answering calls and helping our community through the whole day Sunday. Most of them were going for more than 36hrs without sleep or rest. Our Chief while on duty at Lincoln County Fire was part of the crew that was sent to help, he stayed all night with his Lincoln County Crew and immediately after his shift was back as acting Chief at the Firehouse. Our Assistant Chief ran calls all night and all day using his personal vehicle to be able to rescue people from flooded waters. Our Lieutenant and Captain worked well into the next day. The other 2 Elsberry Firefighters that were able to show up, one was a Junior and the other stayed well into late Sunday afternoon. We are blessed to have these individuals that are willing to come risk their lives for a community that they love!

On Saturday Firefighter Seely took truck 6616 up to Family Dollar and attended the weekend Memorial Day event. Firefighter Seely allowed citizens to spray the booster line at a cone, played music, and interacted with the community. Don Julios was also there at the event and graciously supplied our Firefighters with both breakfast and lunch, which we are grateful for! On this Memorial Day weekend with Bbq's and sales The Elsberry Fire Department would like to extend our up most gratitude for the Men, Women, and families that sacrificed so much for each and every one of us!

Happy Birthday Chief Killian! Your Firefighters and community appreciate all you do us! Have a great day Chief!!

Congratulations to Firefighter Kevin Seely on graduating his E.M.T class yesterday! After serving the Elsberry community for the last couple of years as a Junior Firefighter, Firefighter Seely enrolled in a E.M.T course as soon as he was able to! He is taking the initiative on his own time to go pursue the qualifications needed not only to better serve the Elsberry community but to also pursue a career as a Fireman. Wish him luck as he takes his certification tests this weekend! Next stop for Firefighter Seely will be Paramedic training!!

🚩 RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT! 🚩

🔥 NO OUTDOOR BURNING! 🔥

After Friday’s multiple wildfires, which led to a local emergency declaration, we urge everyone to stay vigilant and avoid any outdoor burning today and tomorrow. High winds, dry conditions, and low humidity create extreme fire danger.

Let’s not put our first responders, communities, and resources at unnecessary risk. Your cooperation helps prevent dangerous fires and keeps everyone safe!

✅ Avoid burning, grilling, or any open flames.
✅ Properly dispose of ci******es and flammable materials.
✅ Report any smoke or fire immediately.

Our firefighters and emergency crews thank you for doing your part to keep our county safe!
