Hello and Welcome. My name is Trish Pierce and I am the Art Therapist here at "The Maze Art Studio" located in Elyria, Ohio.
Let me first give you some information on Art Therapy and what to expect.
Art Therapy is a mental health profession that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages. (American Art Therapy Association)
The goal of art therapy is to utilize the creative process to help people explore self-expression and, in doing so, find new ways to gain personal insight and develop new coping skills. Techniques used in art therapy can include drawing, painting, coloring, sculpting, or collage.
Through exploring their art, people can look for themes and conflicts that maybe affecting their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
With Art Therapy you need not have a natural "artistic ability or special talent to participate, and people of all ages can benefit from it." (Kendra Cherry)
At this time The Maze Art Studio is accepting all clients and is open to the public. Children, Adolescents, Adults, Seniors, and Families...all are welcome.
