The autumn air filled with creativity this week, as a full house of our crafters gathered to make their own seasonal pillows. Beyond the craft itself, the project proved to be a great success by fostering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Experienced crafters helped beginners, with some reminiscing of the ones they had done in the past and still find joy in using it!!

We had the joy of honoring Theresa on her 102nd birthday today!! Surrounded by family and friends, we celebrated over a century of love, wisdom, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Theresa has been blessed with a wonderful life of three daughters, Lenore, Donna & Debbie, eight grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren!! During her younger years, she volunteered and spent her summers working on parts of the planes during WWII, inspired by the iconic representation of Rosie the Riveter!! Theresa was awarded a Proclamation by the Mayor of Emerson, Danielle DiPaolo in honor of her milestone celebration from the Borough of Emerson!!

In keeping with the spirit of the season, we gathered to create a fall door wreath, and the enthusiasm was endless!! Everyone had an amazing time with a great turnout!! The finished pieces are beautiful, and one person mentioned that they are good enough to sell!!!

The crisp autumn air was filled with cheer as we hosted a successful Fall Festival at Brookdale Emerson. It was a perfect afternoon of apple tasting, apple cider, donuts and more. We are looking forward to making next year’s event even more memorable. Happy Fall!! 🍁 🎃

"Prost!!" A fantastic Oktoberfest evening filled with music was incredible!! The lively performance of traditional German tunes on the accordion had everyone on their feet, clapping along to the music, which truly captured the festive spirit of Munich's famous festival. Everyone enjoyed big soft pretzels and German beer!! One resident remarked, "Rhe entertainer was incredible, I had a great time - this is the best Oktoberfest I have had"!! A big thank you to our Resident Program Manager, Carol, and Cari, Sales Manager on their collaboration in creating a memorable event for our residents!!!

Keeping our residents informed, we held a presentation on Scam Prevention from Nandita, Anshika and Evva, who are a part of Project Senior CARE at Bergen County Academies. They kept the interest of the residents with Bingo games, which were related to the presentation. We had two lucky winners, Antoinette and Sue!!

We would like to express our great appreciation to these amazing students for their service in educating our residents on such an important topic!!
