ShechterCare Specialized, progressive rehab after breast cancer surgery. Raise Your Arms High-Live Without Limits

ShechterCare is a therapist owned practice specializing in lymphedema therapy and therapy after breast cancer surgery. Therapies consist of:

The lymphedema treatment options are:

• Manual Lymphatic Drainage: This non-invasive specialized massage stimulates the lymphatic system to allow for improved lymph circulation and drains the lymph fluid from the arm/leg.
• Vasopneumatic Pump: This special

machine maximizes the reduction of limb size by stimulating the veins to work better and helps soften firm areas of the limb in preparation for manual lymphatic drainage. Compression Bandaging: Multiple layers of short-stretch bandages are applied to the arm to reduce its size.
• Individualized Comprehensive Fitness Program: Flexibility, strengthening and aerobic exercises to enhance lymph flow.
• Compression Garments: Help maintain the reduced size of the limb after a full course of treatment.
• Patient Education: Includes skin care, lifestyle modifications and an individualized home management program. Post mastectomy/lumpectomy therapy:

Studies have shown it is extremely beneficial to exercise post breast cancer surgery to reduce the risk of developing lymphedema and to regain flexibility and strength that may have been lost during and after surgery (Lacomba, 2010). Our therapists work closely with clients to develop programs to meet their specific needs and to create a progressive exercise program to help achieve their goals. An individualized exercise program that focuses on:

- Postural awareness
- Flexibility
- Strength
- Endurance Training
- Range of Motion
- Pain reduction
- Myofascial release
- Scar mobilization
- Functional re-education

Amazing Wildfire Magazine! Can’t wait for my issue.

Amazing Wildfire Magazine! Can’t wait for my issue.

Our WORTH issue is now available for pre-order.

Guest edited by Laura Carfang, Founder and CEO of SurvivingBreastCancer.org, this issue features 21 writers exploring money, employment, identity, and value in the aftermath of breast cancer. Their stories span every stage (0–IV), every receptor type, from early 20s to late 40s, DCIS to metastatic, first-time to multiple diagnoses.

"Inside these pages, you will meet people who once outsourced their value to approval, to careers, to motherhood, to appearance, to data, to endurance. What moves me most about this collection is that it does not romanticize cancer as a gift. These writers do not thank illness for clarity. Instead, they expose how fragile many of our external measures of value already were long before diagnosis.

This collaboration with Wildfire is especially meaningful because storytelling is one of the most radical tools we have in survivorship. At SBC, we believe community is not built through platitudes—it is built through honesty. Through peer-to-peer connection. Through spaces where people can speak the messy truths that don’t fit inside awareness campaigns.

If there is anything I hope you carry from these pages, it is permission to believe that your value has never been up for negotiation." - Laura Carfang

🔥 Issue goes live + digital version available April 25th
🗓 Limited print run: Worth print copies available to order until April 27th—mark your calendars.

We’re diving into the body side of a breast cancer diagnosis this month.

When people think of the physicality of a breast cancer diagnosis, of course breast surgery comes to mind.

But from behind the cancer curtain, we know there are other body-related issues that a breast cancer diagnosis brings to process. From breast changes, to hair, to body image issues, to the physical symptoms of early menopause and treatment.

Join us on Wednesday, March 25th at our free Pop-Up Writing Workshop to use writing to start to feel at home in your body again (or maybe for the first time ever!) and write alongside others navigating similar challenges.

We will use open-ended prompts to help you find the areas of your body-by-breast-cancer story you need to process and heal.

🔥 Theme: Body Stories
📅 Wednesday, March 25th
⏰ 12:30pm PST / 3:30pm EST
✨ No writing experience needed

Facebook family, I need your help. My son, Ayden, my heart and reason for being, is a sophomore at Penn State University park. He is currently working to raise money for all aspects of childhood cancer.

Can anyone help him raise some funds? Of course he sent the link today and time is up end of this week. No amount is too small. Thanks so much in advance. xoxo

Join us in our commitment to turn childhood dreams into reality by supporting THON™. This year, I am taking action by uniting with 16,500 student volunteers and over 25,000 alumni supporters in the fight against childhood cancer. Our year-long efforts culminate in a 46-hour, no-sitting, no-sleepin...
