Here’s a simple DIY if you’ve been wanting a cleaner candle option.

You will need:
- 4 cups beeswax pellets
- 1 cup coconut oil
- Cotton wicks
- Four 4 oz mason jars
- Essential oils of choice

Melt the beeswax and coconut oil together. Stir in your essential oil (about 20 drops per candle works well). Place a small drop of wax in the center of each jar to anchor the wick, then pour the wax mixture in. Let cool fully and trim the wick.

This makes four candles and is an easy way to replace synthetic fragrances in the home.

Adding essential oils to drinks is a simple way to bring in more flavor. This time of year, I’m all about warm apple cider.

Try adding one of these:
- 3 drops Wild Orange
- 2 drops Cinnamon Bark
- 2 drops Cassia
- 2 drops Ginger

Or do a small drop of each while warming your cider on the stove. It creates a cozy, spiced flavor that fits the season.

Here’s a simple DIY that brings that warm, comforting winter scent into your home: homemade potpourri.

Use any mix of the following: orange peels, dried apple slices, whole cloves, cinnamon sticks, vanilla beans, bay leaves, star anise, cardamom seeds, whole nutmeg, or allspice. Place them together in a bowl or decorative dish.

For essential oils, try Wild Orange, Clove, Ginger, Cassia, Cardamom, Cinnamon Bark, Vetiver, or On Guard. Add 3 to 5 drops over the top and refresh as needed when the scent begins to fade.

It also makes a lovely small gift. Fill a little box or bag with the dried ingredients and include the essential oil so the scent can be renewed over time.

This is one of the simplest natural air fresheners to make. All you need are dry pinecones and an essential oil you enjoy.

If you’re gathering pinecones outside, bake them at 200°F for about 30 minutes to dry and open them. Then add one drop of essential oil to each pinecone.

Some oils that work well: Cassia, Clove, Holiday Joy, Holiday Peace, Wild Orange, Siberian Fir, Wintergreen.

Place the scented pinecones in a bowl and set them anywhere you want a natural winter scent.

Have you tried this before? What are your favorite combos?

Our Story

I completed my massage training in 1995 at the Healing Hands Institute of Westwood, NJ. and I hold a New York State License in Massage Therapy. Over the 20+ years I have been massaging, I have seen the best results when I incorporate doTERRA essential oils into the treatment. Whether it is an AromaTouch Technique, which focuses on the application of 8 essential oils to the back and feet, or a Swedish massage, I have found that the addition of the essential oils enhances the client’s experience by aiding in stress reduction, relaxation and releasing muscle tension.

I enjoy helping people solve their health concerns by providing natural solutions. These solutions can be in the form of hands-on therapies like massage or AromaTouch, or recommendations for the best products to use to achieve your desired result. I have 14 years of experience in using therapeutic grade essential oils to resolve all kinds of ailments and I am happy to share my experience with you. Together, we can create a wellness plan for you. I would be honored to assist you on your wellness journey and look forward to partnering with you to help you discover the best solutions for you and your family.
