If your sink smells fine… until you turn on the garbage disposal, you know what I mean. 😅

Food particles love to hang out in there. Instead of pouring in something harsh, try these simple disposal refreshers.

You’ll need:
2 cups baking soda
1 cup salt
½ cup water
⅓ cup unscented castile soap
30 drops Lemon oil 🍋

Mix dry ingredients first. Stir in the soap and oil. Slowly add water, 1 tbsp at a time, until it feels like damp sand.

Scoop tablespoon-sized portions onto parchment paper and let dry 24 hours. Store in a glass jar.

When needed, drop 1–3 into the disposal and turn it on.

Fresh sink. No chemical smell. ✨

If I could outsource one room in the house to clean, it would be this one. 🛁

Soap scum, water spots, mystery buildup… it’s a whole situation.

Instead of grabbing a harsh cream cleanser, try this softer version:

¾ rounded cup baking soda
¼ cup unscented castile soap
1 tbsp water
1 tbsp vinegar
5–10 drops Lemon oil 🍋

Mix the baking soda and castile soap first. Stir in the water, then add the vinegar and Lemon oil. You’re looking for a soft, spreadable paste.

Store it in an airtight container. This batch should give you 2–4 uses.

Apply it to tubs, tile, sinks, or even the toilet. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes, then scrub and wipe clean with a damp cloth.

It cuts through buildup without that overpowering chemical smell that makes you want to leave the room. ✨

If you’ve ever scanned your dish soap on the Think Dirty app, you probably didn’t love the score. 🧴

And since we use it every single day, it’s one of those swaps that actually makes sense.

Here’s a simple version you can mix yourself:

2 cups unscented castile soap
20 drops Lime
8 drops Lemon 🍋
6 drops Citrus Bliss

Pour everything into a clean bottle and shake to combine.

When you’re ready to wash dishes, add 1–2 tablespoons to your dishwater or apply a small amount directly to a natural sponge.

That’s it.

Once you start replacing everyday grocery store products with easy mixes like this, it really makes you rethink what you’ve been buying all these years. ✨

Warmer weather means more fresh fruit and veggies in the house. 🍎🥬

The downside? Most produce has been sprayed and coated before it ever reaches your kitchen.

First thing I do when it comes home? Wash it.

Option 1 (Spray):
¼ cup white or apple cider vinegar
10 drops Lemon essential oil 🍋
Top an 8 oz spray bottle with distilled water

Shake and spray your produce, then rinse.

Option 2 (Soak):
Fill a sink or bowl with water
Add 3–5 drops Lemon oil
3–4 pumps On Guard foaming hand wash

Let produce soak 5–10 minutes, then rinse.

Bonus: I’ve noticed my produce stays fresh longer this way. ✨

Once you really start checking labels, it’s wild what’s hiding in everyday cleaners. 🧴
So let’s start simple … the kitchen.

Try one of these easy all-purpose sprays:

Option 1
¼ cup white vinegar
1 ¾ cups water
30 drops essential oil 🌿

Option 2
2 tbsp On Guard Cleaning Concentrate
15 drops essential oil
Top with distilled water

Add to a 16 oz spray bottle, shake, and use on countertops and sealed surfaces.

Simple. Effective. Way cheaper than store-bought. ✨

Dust has a way of showing up five minutes after you just cleaned. 🌬️

And those fluffy feather dusters? They mostly just send it flying somewhere else.

If you actually want to trap the dust instead of relocating it, reusable cloths are the way to go.

Here’s an easy mix:
2 cups distilled water
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp white vinegar
25 drops Lemon or Lime oil 🍋

Cut 3–5 cloth towels into smaller sections. In a large bowl, combine the water, olive oil, vinegar, and Lemon oil. Add the cloths and let them soak until fully saturated.

Wring each one out well, roll them up tightly, and store in an airtight container.

When they start to dry out, just lightly dampen them with water and they’re ready again. ✨

Are you team reusable, or do you still reach for disposables?

That blue glass cleaner. It’s been a household staple forever… 🪟

But if you’ve already started swapping out other cleaners, this one is an easy upgrade.

Grab a 16 oz spray bottle and mix:
1 ½ cups white vinegar
½ cup distilled water
8 drops of your favorite citrus oil 🍋

Shake before each use and spray onto glass or mirrors. Wipe with a lint-free cloth for a streak-free finish.

It cuts through fingerprints, makeup splatter, and everyday smudges without synthetic fragrance or mystery ingredients. ✨

Simple ingredients. Costs almost nothing. Gets the job done.

Slow drain? Weird smell coming from the sink? 🚰

Before grabbing one of those heavy-duty chemical clog removers, try this first.

You’ll need:
¼ cup baking soda
¼ cup white vinegar
3 drops Wild Orange (or another citrus oil) 🍊

Add the essential oil directly into the drain. Follow with the baking soda, then pour in the vinegar. It will fizz right away. Let it sit for about 15 minutes.

Then flush with hot water, followed by cold water.

Simple ingredients. Simple fix. ✨

Have you ever tried cleaning a drain this way?

Wood furniture starting to look dull?

Before you buy another “restore & shine” product with a long ingredient list, try this instead.

You only need:
¼ cup olive oil
¼ cup vinegar
10 drops essential oil (Wild Orange, Lemon, or Arborvitae all work well) 🍊

Pour the olive oil and vinegar into a glass spray bottle, add your oils, and shake well before each use.

Spray lightly onto a microfiber cloth and wipe down your wood surfaces.

Use it every couple of months or whenever your tables and floors start looking tired. ✨

Let’s talk dishwasher tablets. 🍽️

Most people don’t think twice about them… but whatever is in that little pod ends up coating the plates, cups, and silverware you use every day.

If you’ve already started swapping cleaners in other areas of your home, this one makes sense too.

Here’s a simple version you can make yourself:
1 cup baking soda
¼ cup citric acid
1 tbsp On Guard Cleaner Concentrate
5 drops Grapefruit essential oil 🍊

Mix everything together in a bowl until the texture is uniform. Press the mixture firmly into silicone molds and let them sit for about 4 hours to harden.

Once set, store the tabs in an airtight container and use them just like store-bought ones.

They clean well, smell fresh, and you know exactly what went into them. ✨

And if DIY isn’t your thing, no problem. You can always use the doTERRA dishwasher tabs instead and skip the mixing altogether.

There was a time when I could not live without those big-brand disinfecting wipes. Every spill. Every sticky counter. Grab a wipe. 🧽

Then I looked at the ingredient list.

If you still love the convenience but don’t love what’s in them, this is a solid swap.

You’ll need:
1 roll premium paper towels
2 cups warm water
2 tbsp Fractionated Coconut Oil
5 drops On Guard 🌿
1–2 tbsp On Guard Foaming Hand Wash

Slice the paper towel roll in half using a serrated knife. Place one half into an airtight container.

In a separate bowl, mix the warm water, FCO, On Guard, and the foaming hand wash. Pour the liquid evenly over the paper towels. Cover and let it soak for about 10 minutes, then flip the container and let it sit another 10 minutes so everything distributes evenly.

Once fully saturated, pull out the cardboard tube from the center. The wipes will dispense from the middle.

They’re convenient, they smell amazing, and you know exactly what’s in them. ✨

Oven cleaning. The task we all pretend we don’t see. 👀

You open the door, glance at the baked-on splatter, and quietly decide it can wait another week.

If you’ve been avoiding the harsh oven sprays because of the fumes, this is a much better option.

Mix together:
½ cup baking soda
1 tbsp coarse salt
¼ cup liquid dish soap
5 drops Lemon essential oil 🍋

Stir until it forms a thick paste. Spread a generous layer all over the inside of the oven and let it sit for a few hours. Then wipe everything down with a damp sponge.

That’s it.

The baking soda loosens buildup, the soap helps break down grease, and the citrus oil leaves things smelling fresh instead of chemical-heavy. ✨

Would you try this, or is the oven still on your “ignore for now” list?

I completed my massage training in 1995 at the Healing Hands Institute of Westwood, NJ. and I hold a New York State License in Massage Therapy. Over the 20+ years I have been massaging, I have seen the best results when I incorporate doTERRA essential oils into the treatment. I enjoy helping people solve their health concerns by providing natural solutions.
