Over the past year, he has been awarded both the Patients' Choice award, and the Most Compassionate Doctor award, a distinction shared with fewer than 3% of the nation's doctors. Dr. Fishkin completed his undergraduate education at Yeshiva University in New York, and was then admitted to Chicago Medical School, where he was awarded a research fellowship. He completed his eye surgery training at NYU and the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. Dr. Fishkin has served as medical technology consultant for a variety of medical internet companies and has been involved in the development of award-winning software, devices, and websites. He draws on his technological expertise to ensure that the latest developments in ophthalmology are made available for his patients. Dr. Fishkin has lectured to physician, patient, and hospital groups on a variety of topics, including diabetes and the eye, and the proper management of eye emergencies. In the past year, he was interviewed by Parade Magazine, Good Housekeeping, and Golf Digest. He has given corporate lectures at the headquarters of Google, JP Morgan, and other major corporations. As part of his volunteer work, he provides free vision screenings at local schools and health fairs. He is the only Ophthalmologist for the prestigious Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, ranked by US News & World Report as the #1 rehabilitation hospital on the east coast, and #2 in the entire country. Dr. Fishkin's philosophy is that every person who visits his office deserves a comprehensive eye exam. Dr. Fishkin lives in Bergenfield, NJ with his wife, Lisa, and their four children.
