Starting January 1, 2026, CAMTC-certified massage therapists will be legally recognized as healthcare providers!

This is a major step forward for our field, our students, and the communities we serve.

💼 Massage Therapist at

Haighley Kissee started the Core Program at NHI Emeryville with plans to become a Physical Therapist — but something shifted.

💬 “I fell in love with bodywork.”

While she originally viewed massage as a supplemental skill, the deeper she got into the program, the more she realized the powerful connection massage therapy offers: body, mind, and spirit.

💬 “Massage therapists not only help the body, but the mind and soul too.”

Now, Haighley specializes in Pre and Postnatal Massage Therapy, working at Mama Meg’s Massage — owned by a fellow NHI grad — where she supports moms through their pregnancies and postpartum transitions.

💬 “It has become such an exciting passion of mine… supporting them through their pregnancies and the transitions after birth.”

Haighley says NHI helped her feel confident in choosing a career based on what she truly wanted to do — not what others expected.
