“What would you do if failure was not an obstacle?”

This one question changed everything for James Farnsworth. Nearly 50 years old and searching for something more meaningful, James found clarity during a simple act of care — massaging his partner’s shoulders. In that moment, a lifelong passion awakened.

He found his way to National Holistic Institute’s Sacramento campus, where he discovered not just a new career path, but a purpose.

“I was very grateful for all those around me. The support for family and school helped carry on, confirming that this was the place I was meant to be.”

James enrolled in the Core Massage Therapy Program, then continued into Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy and the Associates of Applied Science Degree Program. Along the way, he has built confidence, expertise, and the ability to help others feel better in their bodies.

“Pressure isn’t about how hard you can push, but knowing where and why.”

For anyone thinking about starting something new, James says:
“Do it. It is totally worth it. There is no other place to gain the quality training you will here.”

Through honest reflection and the encouragement of his younger brother, Jason took a leap and enrolled at NHI Sacramento. Now, he's surrounded by others with their own stories and purpose.

🌟 Massage Therapy Student Spotlight: Parker Maser 🌟

🎓 Core Program Graduate | Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy (ANMT) Graduate
💆‍♂️ Follow Parker:

Parker Maser’s journey to NHI Sacramento was unexpected, but life-changing. After years of being overlooked by the medical system, it was a massage therapist who finally helped shift the perspective and guide Parker toward healing. Motivated by that experience, Parker searched for a path into the field and found NHI.

💬 “What brought me to massage therapy in the first place was personal. I’ve lived with chronic pain for most of my life without clear answers—until recently.”

At NHI, Parker began to find answers—not only for their own healing but for how to help others more effectively. Through the Core Program, Parker developed a deep respect for the body’s ability to adapt and heal.

💬 “During the Core program, I gained a deep appreciation for how adaptive the human body truly is. Moving into the Advanced Neuromuscular Therapy (ANMT) program, I began to understand just how precise and interconnected the body can be.”

This growing knowledge fueled Parker’s desire to support clients with compassion and clarity, especially those who feel dismissed or unheard.

💬 “I want to be the therapist that people turn to when they feel like they haven’t been heard by the medical system.”

Parker’s mission is clear—help others feel seen, understood, and empowered on their wellness journey.
