‼️ New legislation – the PBM Reform Act – has been introduced in the House of Representatives that will serve as the chamber's comprehensive PBM reform package. It includes all of the PBM policies that were in the original Continuing Resolution package from December of last year. "As PBMs continue manipulating drug pricing, extinguishing their competition, and raking in massive profits, patients and pharmacies are suffering," says NCPA CEO Douglas Hoey, pushing for it to be passed and enacted ASAP. "We need help, and we need it quickly."

While eager for details about President Trump’s executive order reviving Most Favored Nation drug pricing, we applaud efforts to rein in PBM practices that increase drug costs, says NCPA CEO Douglas Hoey: "We support a system that cuts out the PBM middlemen, where patients can access lower drug prices via essential local pharmacists, who are the medication experts on the health care team. However, no part of this effort should bypass patient safety and effectiveness by going around the pharmacist. Moving towards a more transparent, cost-plus payment model for drugs has always been a goal of NCPA."
