Why the triathlon?
In my years of living on this beautiful planet I have had more than my share of trauma and challenges. I used to ask why this stuff happened to me but in recent years I both understand and appreciate everything I have lived through and all the ways it has forced me to heal and learn. Above all else, I am grateful for the modalities I have learned which have been massively transformative tools for healing that I have vowed to share with any and all people who are in similar situations, trying to make sense of a messed up life and to find their footing in a world that doesn’t seem like a proper fit.
My journey has taken me through all forms of abuse from a young age- mental, emotional, verbal, physical, and sexual. Gosh, that’s hard to share. There’s shame associated with abuse and trauma and that shame has so much power over survivors until we are able to really meet it face to face. But my life has been both beautiful and incredibly difficult. I credit a few key items to getting me to the place I am in life now which is always healing and learning but with a very different, positive sense of myself and my world.
My path to healing these forty years of struggle was dotted with a plethora of books and teachers but is most markedly linked to four major pillars that created for me a fertile garden in which I could turn my chaos into love and create a new life for myself. These four pillars are YOGA, MEDITATION, SPIRITUAL COACHING, and WALKING IN NATURE. Via these four beauties, I took very deep dives and discovered more than I can easily cover in a typed explanation. I have found myself and discovered gifts I didn’t know I had. I uncovered truths about our world that aren’t widely known, and I came to understand how interconnected we all are- we are beautifully ALL ONE.
The ALL ONE MINDFUL TRIATHLON will feature the three activities that are possible in a group setting- a 5K cross-country walk or run through nature, a yoga practice, and a guided meditation. I am a spiritual coach and an intuitive healer and I trust that anyone who can benefit from those gifts will find me on their own, perhaps even at the event. Using my gifts to bring people together in community for a morning of oneness and healing and then celebrating this beautiful planet on Earth Day’s 50th Anniversary fills my heart with radiant love. I look forward to sharing the high vibes of this day with many of you and know that the day will be blessed.
Finally, this year’s triathlon and festival of conscious living is happening because the universe linked me to a beautiful soul, my friend and co-host, Chad Brown. Chad is amazing in so many ways and is breathing so much good juju into the afternoon festival, full of fantastic workshops, great live bands, and providing us with a very cool venue, too. Chad’s love of music, yoga, festivals, and nature is invigorating. So many good vibes are coalescing for this day of celebration.
