This Sunday is the day on a calendar for celebrating Mother's. I believe in celebrating a mother's heart EVERY day but Hallmark doesn't do that so I'm getting on board with the one day thing.

Two years of conversations with my body. Well, it was pretty one sided as my body was doing most of the talking. Pain and change have something in common; they are VERY demanding. There is a sort of art, or dance to surrender through stillness and listening. Not a master at it, but the practice is always available.

All that to say... I'm teaching at Living Room Yoga again!

To everyone who helped me squirm on my birthday... THANK YOU! I challenged myself to stand in something that resembled fullness and allowed the love generously offered to rest in a place that resembled acceptance.

The science of stretching, aka Yoga, uses gravity (body weight) and the amount of time in a 'pose' under passive tension. Tension is the feeling you get when you go beyond the comfort zone... and stay there with a 4:8 breath pattern; in through the nose for 4, out through the mouth for 8. This breathing technique softens resistance and your body begins to surrender to the suggestion, eventually changing the length and shape of muscle and fascia. Strength is great. GreatNESS is strength AND flexibility. Get ready for deeper squats! And of course... there are the moments of rare and welcomed stillness at the end of every practice.
