Whether you need nursing care, support with daily tasks or just don't want to mow another lawn. Lakeside has a special care unit called “The Haven”.
In July 1968 the first five residents were admitted to Lakeside Lutheran Home. Lakeside was dreamt of and brought to fruition by seven partnering Lutheran churches, all whom had Christian concerns for our community. Since then Lakeside has helped many community members of Emmetsburg and the local area. Lakeside is a licensed Medicare/Medicaid nursing facility with a capacity of 60 residents. Lakeside offers physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy to those who are recuperating from surgery, illness or hospitalization. The Haven was built to serve individuals with a primary diagnosis of an irreversible dementia such as Alzheimer’s. Common features of this program include a segregated living unit with special design features of dining and socialization. Family support and staff training are provided. Lakeside Assisted Living, a new 12 unit certified assisted living facility, opened recently, and it is attached to Lakeside Lutheran Home. This new level of care enhances the overall services provided in this Christian, non-profit setting.

Lakeside staff and residents celebrated a wonderful Valentine’s Day together this past Friday! We enjoyed delicious Valentine’s cookies baked by our talented residents and staff, and shared plenty of fun, laughter, and love with family and friends.
A heartfelt thank you to all of you for trusting us to care for your loved ones. They have truly become part of our family, and we’re so grateful to be part of your lives. Our family keeps growing, and we cherish every moment together.

We kicked things off with plenty of delicious snacks, a fantastic Christmas party filled with laughter and joy, and wonderful gifts that brought smiles all around. 🎁😊 Our hallways were alive with festive spirit as a talented band played cheerful tunes and Christmas carolers spread holiday magic everywhere! 🎶🎄
We also got creative with tie blankets and built adorable gingerbread houses — making sweet memories together. 🧣🏠 And to ring in the New Year, we threw a lively celebration with staff and residents filled with fun, laughter, and good cheer! 🥳🎆

Lakeside is happy to have an ongoing relationship with the Emmetsburg Education Center for over 2 years now. The EEC is a pre-school/daycare here in Emmetsburg, IA. They visit us every Thursday morning and is a wonderful highlight to our week. We encourage you to join us for an activity anytime.
