Feeling so proud of our hygienists for taking the initiative to learn about a new, cutting-edge approach to dental cleanings. 😁

Nicole and Taylor are now officially trained in Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) with EMS and were able to start implementing it this week. 🎓

This system uses air polishing technology to clean teeth in a way that’s
more comfortable, more thorough, and more precise in the following ways:

🦷 Better removal of harmful bacteria (biofilm)
🦷 Less scraping, more comfort

Yesterday, Dr. Hauswirth led her last meeting as President of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry’s Alumni Association. She is pictured with the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Clark Stanford.

The Alumni Association consists of a group of dentists who are dedicated to supporting the University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry and ensuring a strong future of dental excellence in our state.

Our state’s dental program is one of the best in the country, with students seeing more live patients and completing more procedures prior to graduation than anywhere else in the country!

Taylor, MaKayla, and Dr. Hauswirth spent Thursday and Friday at the Minnesota Dental Association’s Star of the North meeting. ✨

It’s important to us to stay current on dental science and the protocols we use in treating our patients. We received two full days of continuing education in pediatric dentistry, infection control, oral pathology, and periodontics. 📝

Along with lots of learning, we had a little fun in the big city enjoying good food and lots of laughs. 👯‍♀️

We’re excited to bring what we learned back to work this upcoming week! 🦷
