We are incredibly honored to share that Palo Alto County EMS has been named the 2025 Career EMS Service of the Year by the Iowa EMS Association! 🚑

Twenty years ago, in 2004, we were recognized as Iowa’s Volunteer EMS Service of the Year with just two full-time staff. Today, as EMS across Iowa has shifted from volunteer-based to full-time professional services, our team has grown to nine full-time providers, ensuring reliable emergency care 24/7 for the people of Palo Alto County.

This award reflects an incredible year of hard work and dedication. Our team:

🚑 Expanded staffing for consistent countywide coverage
🚑 Earned a deficiency-free inspection
🚑 Upgraded ambulances and equipment
🚑 Mentored new EMS providers
🚑 Delivered compassionate care that went far beyond the call

And behind the scenes, they lifted each other and me through one of the most challenging years we’ve faced. They showed what true dedication, teamwork, and heart look like.

Palo Alto County EMS is stronger than ever, and I’m proud to serve alongside this exceptional team. Thank you to our community for trusting us, supporting us, and letting us be there on your hardest days.
