I am so very greatful for all 45 athletes who showed up to take on the Murph workout with me today, either online or outdoors. No matter how many reps you did, or the time it took you, you succeeded! You gave up a bit of your comfort and likely a LOT of your sweat to remember and honor those that gave it all for our freedoms. Be proud of yourself, I certainly am!

Joining us for the Murph Memorial Workout Monday? Be thinking about your ex*****on. Here are the most common rep and set breakouts. You can always divide it in half with any of these. Or take it on with a partner. Run 1/2 or 1 mile together, then split the reps, then run again. In splitting reps with a partner you can do I Go You Go and work down the 100, then 200, then 300, or you can pick one of the suggested reps schemes provided and parter A does a set then rest while partner B does a set until the total sets are complete.

Show up, give what you can to honor those that gave all.

But hey, ugly food is still food. And this is dinner. Remember all those carbs you couldn’t believe at ate for breakfast, well there are still a few hear, peek the crushed chips, but not near as many. Because, golf wasn’t nearly as depleting on the body as that workout this am, so heavier emphasis on protein and fat here.

Fueling / Refueling your body doesn’t have to be bland or boring. This was my post meal for today: cinnamon roll protein waffle with 1/2 scoop of their vanilla isolate protein added, 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, strawberries and ~1/8 cup maple syrup. Yes, it’s high carb, ~65g, no it’s not “making me fat.” It is replenishing my glycogen stores and prevents my body from burning muscle for energy. And the ~35g protein help me maintain and even build muscle. And as a middle aged female, this is absolutely one of the most important thing you can do for yourself!
