All of Wyche Counseling Services Employee Spotlights will be featured in a Therapeutic Booklet called “Mind Matters”. The booklet will present worksheets & information to assist with mental health strategies, coping skills, self care & back to school strategies for parents & students.

Meet Wyche Counseling Services Clinical Director & Licensed Therapist
Employee Spotlight 💼🔦
Shameka Wyche is a Licensed Professional Counselor and native of Emporia, Virginia. Ms. Wyche has obtained degrees in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Clinical Mental Health Counseling and is currently enrolled to obtain a Doctorate Degree in Community Care and Counseling Specializing in Traumatology. Ms. Wyche has two decades of experience in serving communities and providing assistance with mental health. Some of her theoretical approaches to counseling includes Impact Theory, Family Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Ms. Wyche provides creative, multi-sensory approaches to counseling that shows respect for individuals and the manner of which each may behave, think, learn and change.

Dasmon is a seasoned Qualified Mental Health Professional with over 20 years of experience dedicated to serving individuals and families across diverse settings. A proud graduate of Shaw University, he earned a Bachelor's Degree that laid the foundation for a long-standing career in behavioral health. Throughout two decades of service, Dasmon has worked extensively in both community-based counseling and residential treatment environments. This broad range of experience has cultivated a deep understanding of mental health challenges across the lifespan.
Dasmon specializes in supporting clients with emotional regulation, trauma recovery, and behavioral interventions. He has demonstrated a consistent ability to engage clients from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Known for a compassionate yet structured approach, Dasmon emphasizes strength-based strategies and individualized treatment planning. Collaborative work with families, schools, and interdisciplinary teams has been central to his practice. Mrs. Judkins is a native of North Carolina and hold degrees from Elizabeth City State University and Capella University. With twelve years of experience in the field of education, both in classroom settings and beyond, she has developed a robust skill set. Mrs. Judkins enthusiasm for Mental Health was particularly heightened during the COVID-19 pandemic, leading her to become a Qualified Mental Health Professional. She is dedicated to collaborating with families and implementing effective strategies and interventions to enhance the well-being of each client she serve. Her goal is to become a Licensed Mental Health Professional Counselor.

Please help me congratulate Angela Smith for a job well done as we honor her as one of Wyche Counseling Services Employee Spotlight. 🔦💼 Thank you Ms. Smith

Angela Smith was born and raised in Valentines, Virginia, and currently reside in Emporia, Virginia. She is a proud mother of two amazing sons, Jadin and Jordan.
Ms. Smith is a dedicated professional with a strong foundation in both criminal justice and behavioral health. She earned a High School Diploma from Brunswick High School in 2001. Ms. Smith went on to receive an Associate Degree in Administration of Justice from Southside Virginia Community College in 2003, followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Liberty University in 2013, and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from American Public University in 2015.

With 19 years of experience in the criminal justice field, she brings a wealth of knowledge and real-world insight into every role. Currently, she serves as a CTE Criminal Justice Teacher at her alma mater, Brunswick High School, in her second year of teaching and inspiring students to explore careers in criminal justice and public service. In addition to her teaching role, she is also a Qualified Mental Health Professional Trainee (QMHP-T) with Wyche Counseling Services in Emporia, Virginia. In this role, she provides direct support to youth and adults through therapeutic services, helping clients manage emotional and behavioral challenges with empathy, structure, and evidence-based strategies. Ms. Smith’s work focuses on anger management, emotional regulation, coping skill development, and support with daily functioning in home and community settings. She is passionate about uplifting individuals, building rapport, and guiding clients toward long-term personal growth. Whether in the classroom or in the behavioral field, her goal is to foster resilience, accountability, and positive transformation.
