As disappointing as it was for my client and myself, I have had to decline providing massage therapy due to their medical history and current medication. I have also required a doctor's note stating clearance to receive massage therapy. It is crucial to be aware of any serious health conditions, recent surgeries, or injuries that may render massage therapy unsafe or contraindicated. For instance, certain medications, heart conditions, high blood pressure, or skin infections could prevent massage therapy. Sharing your medical history enables me to respect your boundaries, ensuring the session consistently feels safe, supportive, and empowering!
