I used to fear my period every month and now it's just not an issue in my life". This young patient had significantly less PMS pain after her first acupuncture treatment
and starting her herbal prescription. Now she comes in for an acupuncture tune up a few days before her period but is mostly managing it herself with her herbal prescription.

When you lose sleep on a regular basis you're experiencing insomnia.

IF YOU HAVE INSOMNIA IT'S TIME TO START ASKING QUESTIONS and figure out how you can get a full night of sleep.

Aside from just feeling frustrated and tired, insomnia can lead to a whole host of health issues or make your current health issues worse.

There are 3 BASIC TYPES of insomnia: trouble falling asleep, trouble staying asleep, waking too early, or any combination of the three.

THERE IS A LOT YOU CAN DO to stop the vicious cycle. Here are a few things you can do to stop it. It takes a little self-discipline but it's worth it.

JUST CHOOSE 3-4 OF THESE ACTIONS that apply best to your situation:
Go to sleep at 10 at the latest (lights out and eyes closed.
Expose your eyes to UV light outside as soon as possible after you wake up.
Stop eating at 7pm. Yes, that includes dessert!
Get at least 20 minutes of exercise daily.
Meditate for 10+ minutes before going to bed.
Keep coffee and tea down to one cup per day. None in the afternoon.
If you consume alcohol of any type be done with it by 7pm.
25-50 deep breaths before you go to sleep.
Stop looking at any screens one hour before bed.

There are many more tactics to get better sleep but choosing the right one for you depends a lot on what's causing it.

WHEN INSOMNIA IS STUBBORN and it isn't responding to basic life changes HORMONAL IMBALANCE is usually the underlying issue.

Yes, you too dudes. You're hormones get out of balance too.

Now for another installment of
"I feel so grateful!! This last week for the first time in 6 months my left leg and feet aren't tingling and painful. And I'm sleeping
without pain as well."
This patient had significant posture distortion and has severe lumbar disc degeneration. She has had Sports Medicine Acupuncture once a
week for 6 weeks and she is doing 10 minutes of posture alignement exercise therapy daily at home. She is also using some point
stimulation "seeds" that I tape onto pain reduction points. The tape-on seeds were a surprisingly powerful tool for her in reducing

Reconnecting with nature is one of the easiest ways to stop stressing. In CA a lot of us are right next to a beach or a trail. Don’t ever take it for granted. Nature absorbs our negative thoughts like a sponge and presents us with the reality that we’re part of something much more beautiful and vast than the minutia we are grinding at. Soak it in. Schedule it and respect it as much as you respect your other obligations. Wishing you a peaceful, healthful, productive day!
