For our Travel Club theme in July, we're motoring across the USA to State Fairs! Lot's of fun memories about family road trips, in the ol' station wagon, to our beloved home-towns❤️ The thrill of a huge Ferris wheel and rollercoaster rides🎡🎢, playing carnival games and winning prizes (including a few goldfish that survived), participating in 4-H Club, and of course, all the tasty treats🌭🍦🍭 It's been great to share our stories and adventures!

✨ Yesterday was filled with smiles, laughter, and celebration here at Silverado Encinitas! ✨🇺🇸

Our residents, families, and team enjoyed a wonderful Fourth of July together with delicious food, festive decorations, and lots of patriotic spirit. ❤️🤍💙

From classic BBQ treats to music and laughter, it was a beautiful day to honor our country’s independence and create special memories with our Silverado family.

Thank you to everyone who made the day so meaningful.

At Silverado, daily engagements are carefully planned to include cognitive stimulation and stress reduction opportunities. Art expression combines both of these pillars, and guided watercolor classes, such as one through Art For All Ages, allows residents at any skill level to create something they can be proud of! While the selected image for each session follows a specific format, each participant adds their own special touch that results in a finished painting as unique as they are🎨

Celebrating milestones and achievements is a hallmark of Silverado culture, and last week we honored several Associates who have passionately served our community for over two decades! Loren Shook, President and co-founder of Silverado, joined us to commemorate 25 year anniversaries for Josue, Director of Plant Operations; Kathy, Director of Culinary; Fausta, Supervisor of Laundry and Housekeeping; and Juan, Maintenance Assistant. For Rosalina, Housekeeping Associate, it's been 20 years! Lorena, a long-time Caregiver, is June's Care Leader, and Hannah, Resident Engagement Assistant, is June's Great 8 Associate. Congratulations and our deepest gratitude to each of you! Thank you also to Silverado Corporate leaders (Stan, Tana, Lizet, Tracy and Shadi) and Michelle Neumann, our Interim Administrator, for making this celebration extra special with your presence!

Our favorite start to summer is a sunny day at the San Diego County Fair🌞 We had a blast! So much to see, from the wide variety of exhibits to lively entertainment, everyone certainly got their steps in for an entire week🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️ A very good thing, because of course, plenty of fair food was sampled, including deep-fried and frozen treats, roasted corn on the cob, and strawberry lemonade!! We even brought back bags of kettle corn to our friends at the Silverado Encinitas community to enjoy. A very fun day of shared memories together❤️

Thank you to all the families who joined us on Thursday for the Surf's Up Father's Day Lunch, with good vibes from surf guitarist Bob Fetheroff😎 On Sunday we celebrated again, enjoying Root Beer Floats & Dad Jokes, basking in perfect California sunshine!
