"Why does my brain get louder when I meditate, not quieter?"
If you've ever thought this .... you're my people.
I used to think meditation was supposed to instantly calm me. Like flipping an internal switch.
Meditation isn't about shutting off your thoughts. It's about noticing them without getting dragged around by them.
Your brain is learning a new rhythm, one tiny moment at a time.
When you pause and breathe, you're giving your mind a break from the constant alarms. Your thoughts still show up. But they lose some of their urgency.
Oh hey, there's that to-do list again.
Here's the insight that changed everything for me:
Meditation doesn't quiet your mind. It quiets your reaction to your mind.
That's where the shift happens.
So if your meditation feels messy or restless—that counts. That means it's working. You're rewiring something slowly, gently, imperfectly.
Your brain feels it. Even if you don't yet.
Save this if you needed the reminder or share with someone that struggles with meditation 💙
