Most skin cancer around the eyelids affect the lower eyelid due to increased sun exposure. This nice flight attendant had a Mohs-trained dermatologist remove her skin cancer, which involved a good portion of the lower eyelid, and we performed the reconstruction. Basal cell carcinoma is the most common type of skin cancer to affect the eyelid. The ideal aesthetic reconstruction of defects like this avoids a notch or obvious scar.
