Jetlagged and tired, but feeling happy and fulfilled this summer. Joined a team of Sports Medicine physicians from Mayo clinic, PM&R doctors, nurses, members of the Philippine Navy and other volunteers for a medical mission in Davao City, Philippines.

Beyond the medical/surgical care we provided, we also organized a one-day conference for the local doctors and met with the physicians, administrators and staff at the Tebow Cure hospital to explore how we can support their mission. This hospital provides free surgical and follow-up care to children with cleft lip/palate and congenital orthopedic conditions.

My son turned 13 during this trip. He wholeheartedly participated, making it a meaningful way to mark his transition into teenage years: by helping those in need, learning the Filipino culture and meeting remarkable people from all corners of life.

Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and generous words. It truly means the world to me—both professionally and personally—to be entrusted with the care of your loved one.

As physicians, we dedicate our lives to helping others heal, but there is a unique kind of honor and responsibility when a fellow physician chooses you to care for their family. Your trust humbles me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of your family’s journey to healing!
