In preparation for this week’s anticipated storm, the City of Encinitas is providing sandbags or sandbag supplies free of charge to city residents. They will be available while supplies last at the following locations:

* 200 filled sandbags beginning tomorrow at 6:30 am at the Public Works Operations Yard, 160 Calle Magdalena.
* Sandbag supplies and self-service station are available now and will be restocked at 6:30 am tomorrow at Encinitas Fire Station 3, 801 Orpheus Avenue.

Local hardware stores may have supplies as well.

With high winds and rain on the horizon, if power out occurs which often seems to happen during high wind/rain events. Reminder just in case to
1. Have flashlights and batteries, phones charged up.
2. Perhaps a cooler ready to store fridge, food for quick no cook meals so you don't have to open fridge and spoil food/freezer if power does go out etc..
Why, in case a power out which often happens it seems during these events.
