Persefoni C. Nizamis, 92, passed away, unexpectedly, Thursday, October 30, 2025, at her residence at Castle Gardens Assisted Living Facility, Vestal.
She was predeceased by her husband Ballis, and parents Christos and Despina Carides.
She is survived by two sons John Ballis Nizamis, (Karen Hilton Ferris), and Christopher Peter (Theresa) Nizamis, her grandchildren John Ryan Maddie) Nizamis, Caili (Robert) Trenk, and Christian Nizamis (Allison Semmel); great grandchildren Isabella, Sophia, Olivia and Lillian Nizamis, and Ava Trenk.

Ellen Marie (McHugh) Coyne, 78, of Johnson City, NY passed away peacefully at home on October 22nd, 2025, after a courageous fight with advanced Alzheimer’s type dementia. Part 3 of our history series on the Allen family!

In 1915, J.R. and Jessie Allen moved their family and business to the growing community of Endicott.

In 1937, J.R. built a state-of-the-art brick funeral home on East Main Street in Endicott, complete with air conditioning, a bold investment for its time. Though some questioned his decision, the Allen Memorial Home building still stands today as a testament to his vision.

J.R. faithfully served families until his passing in 1953, when his son Ward continued the legacy until his retirement in 1971.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Michael in 2019; her parents; Casimer and Lottie (Wesoloski) Carros; her brothers, Vincent (Gertrude) Carros, John (Violet) Carros, and Casimer Carros.
