🧠Neural fibers from the limbic system, the brain’s emotional center, are connected to the frontal lobes, the thought center.

🧠Information is processed in the amygdala BEFORE the frontal lobe = feel THEN think.

🧠A connection with a caring adult is one of the most impactful ways to support the flow of positive information into the amygdala, turning up the feelings of safety and security and turning down stress/the release of the stress hormone cortisol. This alone allows a child to be more ready to learn.

1️⃣Why do you think the character made that decision? What other choices could they have made, and what might have happened if they did?

2️⃣How would you solve the problem if you were in the character’s shoes? What factors would you consider, and why?

3️⃣ What do you think the author wanted us to learn from this story? How does this connect to your own experiences or the world around you?
