Here’s a before and after of a patient who is still in treatment at our office! Step #1 was to correct her crossbite!

One of the most important rules of functional and beautiful smile is for all of the top tooth to fit outside and over the bottom teeth! For this patient, you can see on the left side of the image that the top teeth are fitting inside the bottom teeth which often leads to:
- Early tooth wear
- Inability to chew properly
- Uneven front teeth
- The line between the front on the top and bottom don’t match
- Dysfunctional jaw movements that lead to TMJ pain in the future

If this is not corrected early (often between 8-10 years old), it may require surgery. This is why your orthodontist needs to see you early enough while you’re growing to diagnosis and possibly treat this possible in a very easy way!
