⚡2026 ⚡FDNY♠ Search & Rescue Field Medicine (SRFM) Symposium ♠ May 14–17, 2026, at the FDNY Fire Training Academy on Randall’s Island, New York.
Proud to stand alongside Hero Link at the upcoming FDNY Training Conference.
Medicine in Bad Places was built on one core belief: training must work where conditions are imperfect, resources are limited, and failure is not an option.
From tactical medical training and operational readiness to real-world support for first responders and security professionals, our mission remains the same: prepare people for the realities they may actually face.
Hero Link brings a critical capability to the front line by allowing vital information to reach first responders in seconds, without guessing, delays, or fragmented communication during high-stress incidents. When responders are moving toward chaos, access to accurate information can change outcomes immediately.
We spend a great deal of time asking who is helping the public when emergencies happen. The better question is: who is helping the first responder when they need help?
That is where preparation, technology, communication, and partnerships matter most.
We look forward to connecting with the men and women who continue to run toward the problems others run from.
Stop by the booth, meet the team, and see how Hero Link and Medicine in Bad Places are helping raise the standard for readiness, compliance, and operational performance across the industry.
Train. Prepare. Perform.

Mental health matters! 💜

As part of Mental Health Awareness Month, FDSA delivered our first batch of First Responder Reset Kits to Sheriff Gator DeLoach in Putnam County.

Using simple sensory reset tools, these kits are designed to help first responders regulate and refocus after difficult calls. Huge shout out to Hero Link for supporting this effort.

We're very honored to be working with the Florida Deputy Sheriffs Association on such a much-needed mental health resource kit for Deputies across Florida.

Hero Link is providing NFC tap-enabled Wallet Cards to these kits. When a Deputy is in crisis or has an off day, they can tap their phone to this card and instantly pull mental health and wellness resources out to be utilized at a moments notice. This Wallet Card will even protect these Deputies in case they are ever physically hurt or unconscious as well!

Mental health is real, it's serious, and if not treated, may be catastrophic.

Please look after yourself and one another.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

At FDSA, we know the weight first responders carry doesn’t come off with the uniform. Long shifts, trauma, stress, missed holidays, and the constant pressure to stay strong all take a toll over time.

That’s why we’re taking action in small but meaningful ways.

These FDSA Reset Kits were created to give deputies quick tools to reset, refocus, and stay operational during difficult moments. It’s not a fix for everything — but it’s a reminder that mental health matters, asking for help matters, and taking care of our people matters.

To every first responder reading this:
You spend your career showing up for others. Don’t forget to show up for yourself too.
