Belly binding is an ancient postpartum practice that offers gentle compression and intentional support as a mother’s body transitions after birth. It can help bring awareness back to the core, support healing with diastasis recti, encourage better posture during long feeding sessions, and provide that secure, tucked-in feeling so many moms crave in the early weeks.

For some mamas, especially after long labors, significant weight gain in pregnancy,,cesarean births, multiples, or back-to-back pregnancies, the abdomen can feel weak, heavy, or disconnected. Belly binding isn’t about “bouncing back.” It’s about grounding, stabilization, and honoring the body as it recalibrates.

Postpartum bodies deserve care, patience, and intentional support. Always. 🤎

So this post is a little overdue but like everything including her , in perfect timing! Little Miss Lala has entered the chat ya'll ! Let me tell you the story of how this Doula met a strong lady , full of life, full of fire and good vibes and she created a little human who is just the same ! My amazing Doula Sister/Partner is a mommy again ! The journey is one I can't wait to hear her share when she is ready ! Baby girl decided she was ready to join the world ahead of her time ...2 whole months ahead of time ! But of course she is growing and thriving like the fiery little being that she is! Strength is something we always talk about but I won't dwell on it too long as strength is also sometimes demanded of us and as black women we will show up when it's demanded instead I want to highlight my sisters' patience , her grace , her softness and her self acceptance because those are things that are hardest to achieve and not often celebrated! What a whirlwind it has been but Mama is showing up for her perfect little princess day in and day out ❤️❤️🙏🏽
