Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a naturally occurring compound produced in small amounts by the body, with levels decreasing as we age. It functions as a powerful antioxidant, capable of neutralizing free radicals and reducing oxidative stress, which contributes to aging and various diseases. ALA is unique due to its ability to dissolve in both water and fat, allowing it to work in every cell and protect against cellular damage, including at the genetic level.
