Boston Marathon 2025. What an amazing day. Boston is historic and elitist. I was worried. I raised money for This charity fit me well. Empowering Women through Running with at the helm. It was a hot 🥵 day to begin with. It was crowded, and I was out too fast. I knew who was cheering on the course and that is how I broke down each of the next steps. was at 5K so I just needed to get there. Next was at about mile 8. Dana saved me and is a fixture races so I was going to find her. She had a 6 star sign! My training season had been hard including work stress and freezing temperatures so I really wanted to just finish under the elapsed time to pick up my star and have a blast. I locked into my goals and OMG people there was no holding back my FUN VIBES. I had a lot of ice pops. I found all the Fearless ladies. These college kids are fantastic fans . found me which I knew there was a chance would happen, and it was incredible. We ran down the streets yelling “That’s my bestie” to amazing cheers. I smiled, danced, and swaggered. This is my parade right? I saw again! I saw Josh, an undergrad who shadows me at the medical tent right near 💔 hill. Then Reis, Joey, and Riley who made the most gorgeous signs I did not see. My brain was on overload and I just needed to hit that 5:30 finish. Right on Hereford and left of Boylston! Boylston was EPIC. It felt like I won the whole damn thing. Meredith was at the finish line with me. Soooooo Thank you, Boston!!! My forehead is sunburn, my legs are sore, and my heart is full.

Forgot to sign up for race. Locked keys in car morning of. Knew I just needed to get my son and I to the start of 2 different races. Started to feel hard at mile 3 🤔. Oh boy! This race was in Maine and New Hampshire. The only thing I knew about New Hampshire was lives there. Towns are super cute. Run was very windy with fog and sea spray on my face. 15 miles along the ocean was a lot! I questioned my life choices. But just like many other runs you gut it out. My son finished his first half 🥇 & took care of the car 😘 . He picked me up and we made it back to Boston. We had some diet cokes and bbq. Ended the night with who ran United Half. It was a GREAT day. And I think this punches my 🎟️ to taper town for

For Marathon 11 and to finish the original Abbott World Marathon Majors I will be running the Boston Marathon. For me it is a charity run. I am raising money for 261 Fearless that is about Empowering Woman through Running. Few things have as positively impacted my adult life as running.

Kathrine Switzer Marathon Woman
was the first woman to complete the Boston Marathon, the all-male race, as an official entrant — her registration as “K.V. Switzer” hid her gender. This was in 1967 when she almost got tackled by the race director and woman were thought to be too fragile 🙄.

The first picture is me meeting Kathrine Switzer in NYC when she was here celebrating the 50th anniversary of her NYC Marathon win.
