Maybe your brain thrives when you move fast, switch tasks, get creative bursts. Traditional systems tell you that's a problem. But what if it were your edge? What if the right system let you leverage it?

Warm, affirming therapy helps neurodivergent adults see their patterns not as “wrong” but as part of their strengths!

You don’t have to chase someone else’s workflow. Let’s craft yours.

When your environment demands energy, multitasking, or quick social cues, your nervous system doesn’t always respond with grace.

Overwhelm, meltdown, shutdown, or chronic anxiety are often messages not signs that you are broken. Paying attention to them is part of self-care.

Therapy can help you build better ways to interpret, respond, and resource your system. It’s not about forcing tolerance, it’s about building harmony.

ADHD, autism, sensory differences, or executive functioning challenges are not flaws. They are ways your brain is wired, and they come with both challenges and strengths. The world often pressures neurodivergent people to adapt, hide, or “normalize,” but your way of experiencing is valid and meaningful.

Therapy can help you understand your unique wiring, lean into your strengths, and heal from internalized messages that you’re “too much” or “not enough.” You don’t need to silence or shrink yourself.

🌀 We want to help you step into a space where your mind is seen, your needs are respected, and your voice matters.

We all have behaviors we use to escape emotional discomfort like excessive screen time, overeating, procrastination, even isolation. These are not character flaws, they’re survival strategies when we feel stuck.

Therapy helps you unpack what’s under those behaviors, give voice to hidden pain, and find healthier responses. We believe everyone deserves support not just those who “break.”

If cost feels like a barrier, our Affordable Counseling Program might be a bridge. You don’t have to walk this alone!

Healing doesn’t just happen in comfort zones. In therapy, safe spaces allow you to be seen without judgment; brave spaces invite you to lean into discomfort and grow. A healthy balance of both is essential for real transformation.

We want to support you through both. Meeting you where you are, then walking with you deeper, at your pace.

When your world has made you wary, therapy’s first task is to offer refuge. A place without criticism, where your truths are honored. That foundational trust is what allows difficult work later.

You don’t have to push too hard, too fast. At Catalyss Counseling, we start with creating a safe place and when you're ready, we step into brave spaces, with care.

💛 Let’s find what safe looks like for you.

Some days, it feels like survival mode, trying to get through everything on your list. It’s in those moments, when life feels overwhelming, that connecting with people who truly understand, even for a moment, can be so grounding.

The Story of Catalyss Counseling

Catalyss Counseling became a business in 2014, with two original partners creating a small group therapy practice. After one of the partners left in 2016 to go to the Peace Corps, Shannon Heers took over as owner and president. At that time Catalyss Counseling was located in the Chase Bank building in Englewood.

In 2018, Shannon Heers relocated Catalyss Counseling to a new office just west and south of the Chase Building, to 750 W. Hampden Ave., while staying in Englewood. In 2019, Catalyss Counseling expanded to become a group practice with the hiring of two additional licensed therapists, Kristen Dammer and Jennifer Kubilus. Catalyss Counseling was now able to provide additional appointment times to the Denver community, including expanded evening and weekend hours.

In 2019, Catalyss Counseling also refined its niche to focus on helping anxious adults change their thinking patterns, caregivers process their stress, and women recover from their trauma. Our other treatment focuses remain depression, stress management/work-related stress, and women’s issues. Our trauma specialist offers EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) treatment for trauma, a non-traditional therapy technique that has shown to be effective in treating past trauma and traumatic events.

In 2020, Catalyss Counseling expanded even further! We hired 2 additional licensed therapists to work with adults facing anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and trauma, and now we have a maternal mental health specialist available. We are able to offer services 7 days a week, continuing to offer evening and weekend sessions in addition to daytime hours, for your convenience.
