Last week, HCA HealthONE Swedish was proud to join Englewood High School’s Future Fair and connect with students exploring careers in healthcare.

Twelve colleagues represented 10 different career paths, including pharmacy, pharmacy technician roles, family medicine doctors, nursing, patient care technicians, Acute Rehab and therapies, transportation, food and nutrition services, and communications and community engagement.

With more than 20 businesses at the event, students had the opportunity to learn about many different futures. We were proud to show that healthcare offers more than one path forward. From entry-level roles to careers that grow with continued education and training, there are many ways to get started and build meaningful experience over time.

We are proud to support the future of our community by helping students better understand healthcare careers, the education different roles may require and the first steps they can take toward a career in the field.

💙💚 Living donation makes it possible for healthy people to donate a kidney, part of their liver and certain other organs and tissues, helping others receive the transplants they need as soon as possible. According to the Organ Procurement & Transplantation Network, the number of living donor transplants has continued to grow in recent years, with more than 7,000 taking place nationwide in 2025 alone.

HCA Healthcare, our broader network of care, is a leading provider of living donor kidney transplants, performing 352 of these transplants last year. In total, our caregivers performed 1,324 organ transplants in 2025.

🤰A delivery (C-section) can be the safest option when certain concerns come up during pregnancy or labor – helping protect both you and your baby. C-sections are major abdominal surgery, and the most common surgery performed for pregnant patients in the U.S. If you’re preparing for childbirth, talk with your obstetrician about what may be the best path forward for you and your baby.

Here, Dr. Cindy Celnik, chief medical officer for HCA Healthcare Women’s Services, explains why doctors perform C-sections and what to expect if a C-section becomes part of your delivery experience.

Across our broader HCA Healthcare network, caregivers support more than 200,000 births each year, with care that’s personalized to you and your family. Looking for an obstetrician? Meet our experts and schedule an appointment: https://bit.ly/3Oeh6w6

ACL injuries are on the rise - especially in young women. Research shows female athletes are two to five times more likely to suffer ACL tears compared to males, often during movements like cutting, pivoting or landing from a jump.

Why is this happening? It’s not just one reason - factors like training load, muscle strength, movement patterns and even access to proper conditioning all play a role.

The good news? Prevention is possible. Dr. Brooke Pengel, a pediatric orthopedic specialist with HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s, discusses how common the injury is and prevention tips:

Dr. Brooke Pengel, a Pediatric Orthopedic Specialist with HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children's talks aboiut how common the injury is and why it is on the rise in one particular group of women.

Today we recognized the first day of Donate Life Month at HCA HealthONE Swedish by raising the Donate Life Month flag in partnership with Donor Alliance.

As home to HCA HealthONE's solid organ transplant program, we see the impact of donation in deeply meaningful ways. Our kidney transplant program began in 1985, and our liver transplant program was added in 2015. Together, these programs have helped save more than 2,000 lives. That work is made possible by our incredible transplant team and the strong partnerships we share across our community. We are grateful to work closely with organizations like Donor Alliance and the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Bank, whose collaboration helps make this lifesaving care possible.

We’re grateful for the partners, families and advocates who help make healing and hope possible for so many in our community.

At 20 years old, Sydney was studying abroad when severe headaches, shortness of breath and extreme fatigue began disrupting her life. After returning home and becoming too weak to stand, she was sent to the ER for a blood transfusion — where she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL).

Alone in Colorado while her family was in Illinois, Sydney was admitted to HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s. Though scared and unsure of what to expect, she quickly found comfort in the compassionate care of our pediatric oncology team, who guided her through every step with clarity and kindness.

After a month-long initial hospital stay and two years of treatment, Sydney celebrated ringing the bell 🔔 on February 26, marking the end of her treatment journey.

Today, Sydney is working hard to regain her strength despite nerve damage caused by treatment. She is finishing school to become a dietitian and is also working toward earning her personal training certification. Inspired by her own journey, she hopes to help others prioritize their health and wellness.
