Born at just 30 weeks, Kinsley was diagnosed with a rare condition called tracheoesophageal fistula and esophageal atresia, where the esophagus and trachea do not develop correctly. At only 12-hours-old, she had to undergo surgery at HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s. After spending 60 days in the NICU, Kinsley is now a healthy 4-year-old. A normal recess. A normal school day. But for 12-year-old Jordan, it was anything but. He collapsed and his heart stopped. Jordan's story is a reminder of how a few seconds and the right training can change everything. Thanks to a quick-acting school nurse who performed CPR and paramedics who used an AED, his life was saved.
