Crush the Crisis: Prescription Drug Takeback Day
Date: October 25, 2025
Location: HCA HealthONE Swedish ER entrance off E. Girard Ave

HCA Healthcare’s Crush the Crisis event aligns with the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to offer a safe, anonymous way to dispose of unused medications.

We will accept:
• Tablets and capsules (any packaging)
• Patches, medicated ointments, lotions, and drops
• Liquid medications (in leak-proof containers)
• V**e cartridges (without batteries)
• Pet medications

We cannot accept:
• Needles, syringes, lancets
• Illegal drugs

Each year, 8.7 million people misuse prescription pain relievers. In 2024, HCA Healthcare collected and safely disposed of 21,137 pounds of medication—an estimated 14.5 million doses no longer at risk for misuse.

Since 2019, we’ve hosted events at more than 625 locations and collected over 88,600 pounds of unused medication. This year, we’re aiming to surpass 100,000 pounds.
