2025 conference keynote speaker Dr. Rogelio “Roy” Coronado is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and core faculty of the Center for Musculoskeletal Research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He has been PI and collaborating investigator on mechanistic, efficacy, and comparative effectiveness trials of behavioral interventions funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), Department of Defense (DoD), Cervical Spine Research Society, and Foundation for Physical Therapy Research. His research interests center on biopsychosocial models of health and strategies for pain management. His recent DOD-funded grant explores the use of integrative health coaching for patients with back pain presenting to the emergency department. He has been recognized with the 2023 Early Faculty Career Development Award from the Association for Clinical and Translational Science and 2025 Eugene Michels New Investigator Award from the American Physical Therapy Association.
