The sweet smell of cookies filled the halls at GBV as residents rolled up their sleeves to make sugar blossom cookies!
There’s just something about baking together that brings back warm memories—and maybe a little friendly debate over who makes the best cookie.
Whether they were helping mix the dough, rolling sugar balls, or just sneaking a sample, everyone had a hand (or a sweet tooth) in the fun.
Life’s a little sweeter when shared—especially with cookies.

GBV Residents Turned the Tables!
On this hot summer day, it was the residents who brought the splash—armed with water balloons and ready for fun, they surprised staff with a good old-fashioned soaking!

Hot weather is here — and it's no joke.
Older adults are more vulnerable to heat-related illnesses, so it’s important to take extra care during these high temps. Stay cool, stay hydrated, and know the signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

GBV Fishing Derby Fun! 🐟
We had a reel good time at yesterday’s Fishing Derby! Whether you were there for the big catches, the peaceful pond views, or just the snacks, it was a day well spent.
Our residents showed off their skills with patience, determination, and a few fish stories we might not be able to verify... but we’ll allow it.
Big thanks to everyone who helped make the day relaxing, joyful, and full of laughter. We'll be talking about this one until next year’s derby!

The pond is stocked and the fish are ready — are you??
Join us for the Grace Brethren Village Fishing Derby on Thursday, July 17th starting at 9:30 AM!
We’ll have everything you need:
✅ Fishing gear & bait provided
✅ Prizes to be won
✅ Fresh air, fun, and good company
Bring your lawn chair and fishing pole if you have one — or just bring yourself and we’ll take care of the rest.
At 12:00 PM, we’ll fire up the grill and serve hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and cookies to keep the energy going.
Whether you’re fishing for fun or just here for the cookout, it’s going to be a great day by the water. See you there!

Our recent Ice Cream Social was the perfect way to cool off and connect! Residents enjoyed delicious ice cream and toe-tapping tunes from the always-entertaining Steve Ramos.

Thanks to everyone who joined us—it was a joyful afternoon full of music, laughter, and sweet treats!

Springfield—and had a fantastic time! The guided tour was full of fascinating stories and beautiful architecture, and the gardens were just as lovely. It was a perfect day for learning something new, enjoying each other’s company, and soaking up the sunshine.

We’re already looking forward to the next adventure!

We recently held a naming contest for our nursing halls at Grace Brethren Village—and the results are in! Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who participated. We’re proud to introduce the newly named halls: Hope and Harmony. Beautiful names for spaces filled with care, comfort, and connection.
