That is almost 400 years in the past! No one is answering their phones and the EOB claims number is just dead silence. Some people have said a message comes up that it was disconnected.

Both HB22-1268 and SB22-156 unanimously passed committees! This is HUGE for mental health/substance abuse treatment in Colorado. One step closer to being signed into law. Please contact your legislators and show support!

Colorado Isn’t Prepared To Deal With the Mental Health Fallout From COVID-19 Coloradans have dealt with a lot, and mental health professionals are worried about the long-term effects of that trauma.

The 16 most absurd ICD-10 codes Behold, the 16 weirdest codes with a little advice from Healthcare Dive on how to handle these cases should they come into your ER.
There was a snake that crawled over a sharp saw and was cut. In anger the snaked wrapped the saw with its thick body and proceeded to squeeze the life out of the saw.
With each angry squeeze it felt more pain but continued because it wasn’t going to let the saw get away with the pain it caused it.
The snake, refusing to let go of the saw, eventually died; not knowing the whole time, he needed to let go of the initial pain and focus on its future and where it was going. Instead, the snake, unfortunately, lost its life and didn’t even see it coming.
Control your anger, forgive those that hurt you, and don’t give people or things power over you. It can ultimately kill you.

Behavioral Health Individual and Family Therapy Authorization Update Notification
Effective March 1, 2021, all CCHA members will have access to up to 20 sessions of individual and/or family therapy sessions during a calendar year before preauthorization is required.
Why is this change necessary?
CCHA is committed to ensuring our members receive high quality, clinically appropriate services in the least restrictive environment. This includes employing mechanisms that allow us to efficiently review and assist with guaranteeing proper access to the variety of available behavioral health continuum services, as clinically indicated.
What is the impact of this change?
Beginning March 1, 2021, once a member has exhausted 20 units of any combination of individual and/or family therapy, all additional sessions during the calendar year will require the provider to follow the preauthorization process.
The affected CPT® codes are 90832, 90834, 90837, 90846 and 90847.
The requesting or servicing provider must submit all preauthorization requests with supporting clinical documentation through one of the following options:
Online via the Interactive Care Reviewer tool at availity.com. Select Patient Registration > Authorizations & Referrals > Authorizations. This method of submission significantly decreases the processing time of the request.
Outpatient fax: 1-800-505-1193
Preferred clinical documentation requirements can be found on the Behavioral Health Outpatient Form located at CCHAcares.com/providertools > CCHA Resources & Support for Providers > Behavioral Health Providers > Utilization Management > Behavioral Health Outpatient Treatment Form.
If the request for continuation of services is denied, an appeal may be submitted within 60 days of the denial notification.
Appeals can be submitted through one of the following options:
Phone: 1-855-627-4685 (State Relay 711 for callers with speech or hearing disabilities)
Mail: Colorado Community Health Alliance
P.O. Box 62429
Virginia Beach, VA 23466-2429
Failure to follow this process may result in an adverse decision after the 20th session in a calendar year.
What if I need assistance?
If you have questions about this communication or need assistance with any other item, contact your local provider relations representative or call Provider Services at 1-855-627-4685.

IMPORTANT COVID MESSAGE FROM
Department of Health Care Policy & Financing
Dear Health First Colorado and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) Providers,
As the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic continues to impact Coloradans, it’s now more important than ever for the Department of Health Care Policy & Financing (the Department) to ensure those providing care for our Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid program) and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) members are protected.
The Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment (CDPHE) has created a three-phase plan to be as fair as possible about when people will get the vaccine. It’s based on people's risk of serious complications and death from the virus.
CDPHE is the lead agency for the vaccine roll out phasing and timing, and will update its lists and Frequently Asked Questions on a regular basis on the CDPHE website.
CDPHE updated its phasing December 30, and Health First Colorado and CHP+ providers who care for our highest risk members are included in Phase 1A:
This includes highest-risk health care workers who must have direct contact with COVID-19 patients for longer periods of time (defined as 15 minutes or more over a period of 24 hours) as part of their jobs.
This phase also includes long-term care (LTC) facility staff including skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and group homes serving LTC residents. Residents of any such facility are also included.
With the update from CDPHE, the following Health First Colorado and CHP+ providers are now included in Phase 1B:
Moderate-risk health care workers and responders - Health care workers with less direct contact with COVID-19 patients, but who still work in direct patient care or as direct patient care support staff. This includes home care workers defined as staff providing direct care to individuals through home visitation programs, early intervention, outpatient services like occupational, speech, physical and behavioral therapies, Home & Community-Based Services (HCBS), Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), long-term home health and private duty nursing staff.
Non-Emergent Medical Transportation (NEMT) and Non-Medical Transportation (NMT) workers
Essential workers in high risk settings - Those working in homeless shelters and encampments, dental offices and corrections settings.
Behavioral health workers - Similar to moderate-risk health care workers and responders, behavioral health care workers with less direct contact with COVID-19 patients but who still work in direct patient care or as direct patient care support staff. This includes but is not limited to staff in intensive treatment and wrap around programs.
Please encourage your staff to get their vaccines and refer them to CDPHE for resources on safety. You can get more information on which phase you and your staff should be vaccinated in and where on the CDPHE Vaccine Providers and Public Health Professionals web page. You and your employees can find information about where they can get the vaccine listed by county here.
The two available vaccines require two doses 3-4 weeks apart. Both doses are needed to maximize your body's ability to create antibodies against the virus. The vaccines work and are safe. They have passed all the tests needed to evaluate their safety and effectiveness, and the process has been overseen by the nation’s top scientists and doctors. You can learn more about vaccine safety on the Vaccine for Coloradans web page.
You, your employees and your patients can find more information about the COVID-19 vaccine, where to get it, safety information and more at the CDPHE website or by calling the COHELP hotline at 1-877-462-2911. We will continue to provide COVID-19 and vaccine information and updates about Health First Colorado and CHP+ through our newsletters and online at the COVID-19 web page.
