Remember the tsunami last week? Well Dr. Wong was attending the Western Orthopedic Association (WOA) meeting in Hawaii at the same time! Aside from a long night in the fourth floor hotel ballroom, Dr. Wong, and Hawaii, were spared. And the meeting proceeded next morning without disruption.

The Past Chairman of Orthopedics at the Mayo Clinic gave a keynote address on leadership and encouraged all attendees to participate in professional societies (such as the WOA, North American Spine Society, and American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons to which all the CSP surgeons belong and have held leadership roles). Alo-ha!

The 40th Annual Meeting of the North American Spine Society (NASS) is taking place in Denver this year. Dr. Wong has made his mark on this organization with several leadership positions including President, and has received the prestigous NASS Spine Advocate of the Year Award and Past President Award. The meeting takes place in November in the Downtown Convention Center.
