“DENVER DAYS” - four times a year we spend a week together at the JRF Ortho headquarters in Centennial, CO - collaborating, training, and innovating. This Denver Days, we spent some time in the lab with a crash course on the distal tibia allograft for humeral head procedure.

In 2023, NBA player Lonzo Ball was the recipient of a meniscal and cartilage allograft transplant, made possible through the gift of donation from donor, Alex Reinhardt, a 20 year old from South Dakota.

In a full-circle moment at a recent Bulls-Heat game, Lonzo got to meet his donor family, pictured here. Lonzo now honors the legacy of a young man who made it all possible.

Donor Alex’s mother, Angie Reinhardt, says, “To be able to keep helping people after his death really feels like a blessing to all of us.”

Though a year has gone by, the memory of our exceptional leader, Christian Bezenar, remains vivid. Christian led JRF Ortho with kindness, compassion, and an unmatched vision. His absence is deeply felt, but his legacy continues to inspire us. Through the Christian Bezenar International Cartilage Memorial Fund, the Christian Bezenar Traveling Fellowship, and especially the lives touched by his own tissue donations, Christian’s impact endures. We miss him every day and strive to honor his memory in all that we do at JRF Ortho.
