We honor the life and legacy of Fred Sammons, a true champion for therapists, Amtryke riders, and the entire AMBUCS community. Fred’s passion for innovation and accessibility shaped the Amtryke program in countless ways, and his influence continues to guide how we serve riders across the country.

As the largest individual donor to the Scholarships for Therapists Program, his generous endowment will leave a lasting mark on the profession by supporting the education of students who will go on to transform countless lives.

His dedication to empowering people through adaptive technology will also live on through the Amtryke Training Space that will proudly carry his name, a lasting reminder of his vision, generosity, and commitment to helping others thrive.

Attention AMBUCS Chapters!

The Helmet Challenge has started strong, but we need your help to keep the momentum going!

Use the message below to reach out to the parents, caregivers, therapists, and riders of your Amtryke recipients and challenge them to join the Amtryke Helmet Challenge. This is a fun way to boost national visibility for Amtryke, and who better to do it than the riders themselves?

Hi [Parent/Caregiver/Therapist/Rider Name],

We’re inviting you to join the Amtryke Helmet Challenge! Here’s how it works:

Catch a helmet (or simply hold it)
Share why you love Amtryke
Pass it on by tagging friends, family, or other riders

Everyone can be part of the challenge! For those who are nonverbal or need assistance, a friend, family member, or teammate can speak or pass the helmet for them.

Every video helps spread the word about Amtryke and the joy of mobility, and shows the nation the amazing impact of our riders!

Ensure your post is set to public, tag , and use , , and .

Learn more here: https://ambucs.org/pass-the-helmet-challenge/

We can’t wait to see your videos!
