Odd Fellow & Rebekah Retirement Center

Odd Fellow & Rebekah Retirement Center The Odd Fellow & Rebekah Retirement Center is an Independent Living Center offering independence and supervised care in a dignified community setting.

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.), Grand Lodge of Texas, established the Retirement Center on 100 acres of beautiful country landscape inside the city limits of Ennis, Texas in 1926. Odd Fellowship was the first fraternal Organization to build and maintain homes for the aged, a place of security and comfort, a refuge against the ills of life. The Texas facility was originally des

igned for Odd Fellow and Rebekah members; however, residency is open to all individuals seeking a quality of living without sacrificing choices for independent living. The Odd Fellow and Rebekah Retirement Center is a retirement community of independent living with opportunities for social interaction with a secure environment. Our family of residents are from varying cultures and diverse backgrounds - from mothers and housewives, to oil, banking and marketing executives. Our Home combines independence with supervised care in a dignified community setting for older persons who are functionally and socially independent. Residents have the privacy of their own spacious room, an elegant living area, a large dining room, an in-house laundromat, game room with computers, and a beautiful serene chapel where Bible studies and worship services are held every week. The residents receive three full meals served in our dining room daily. Other amenities include a beauty shop/barber shop, movie theater, an exercise room, and rooms for arts, crafts, quilting, and sewing. Diet and nutrition is managed by a certified food service technician where special diets can be prepared as required. The retirement center provides transportation to community activities, local shopping trips, and physician and healthcare appointments, which are included in the monthly fee. Community activities are encouraged within the center including arts, music, civic affairs, social functions, entertainers, religions teachers, reading volunteers, and educational groups. The Home is supported by the members of the Fraternal Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Texas through benefactors, endowments, and donations in addition to fees received from residents for monthly room and board. The Odd Fellow Homes concept has been recognized as a leader in geriatric care for providing the best care found anywhere. Room and board is a fixed monthly charge, depending on the size of accommodation, based on market rate housing in a warm and home-like atmosphere. There are no contracts and no entrance fees. The retirement center is conveniently located just one mile South of downtown Ennis and only minutes from the local hospital, physician’s offices, and pharmacy.
