Now hiring!!!! Surgical preassessment coordinator. Job duties include: call patients to gather necessary health history information and testing, schedule patients, and coordinate the surgical schedule to ensure smooth patient flow. Medical record prep and completion. This is a busy outpatient surgical facility. M-F 8-4:30. No weekends, 6 paid holidays, paid time off, BCBS health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan. The ideal candidate has a background in healthcare, basic computer knowledge, is helpful and respectful to patients and other staff, and maintains reliable attendance. South Alabama Outpatient Services will be closed on Thursday, January 23rd, due to winter weather road conditions. We will resume our regular business hours on Friday, January 24th. Your physician's office will reach out to reschedule if you have a surgical appointment scheduled with us.

In order to prioritize the safety of our patients and staff during the severe winter weather, our office will close at noon on Tuesday, January 21st, and will remain closed on Wednesday, January 22nd. We have resumed normal business operations with increased safety and sanitation. At this time we are following the CDC recommended practices and we ask that anyone entering the building please wear a cloth face covering or mask. We are not allowing visitors inside with patients at the moment. Pediatric patients are only allowed one parent in the building.We are doing temperature screenings on arrival.We appreciate your patience as we take these precautions for everyones safety.

We are continuing business at this time. We are prescreening and asking anyone with fever or flu like symptoms, or that have been exposed to anyone with these symptoms, to please call us to reschedule. We are closely monitoring the situation and have implemented processes to ensure patient, visitor and staff safety.
At this time the only prudent reason to close, would be to free up resources needed to take care of excessive demand as COVID-19 patients fill our hospitals. That has not occurred yet. If it does, obviously we will reevaulate our course of action.
Our patients should always come first. To deny them care when capacity, staff and supplies are available would be contrary to why we opened to serve our community. If we can safely do a procedure to provide a patient pain relief or improve function, that needs to occur in a timely fashion. We should not create further suffering if it is unnecessary
