This year’s Memorial Day Program honored the lives and legacies of each veteran we have served at the CSM Bennie G. Adkins State Veterans Home who had passed away during our first two years of operation. It was a heartfelt time of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude as we paid tribute to the men and women who faithfully served our country.
Our keynote speaker, Robert Schmidbauer, delivered a powerful message reminding us of the importance of honoring and respecting this special day and the sacrifices made for our freedom.
A special thank you to Compassus Hospice, Day Springs Hospice, and Gentiva Hospice for generously providing refreshments for our veterans, staff, and guests.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to the VSO Color Guard for serving during the ceremony and helping make the program so meaningful and respectful.
Thank you to the Pea River Genealogical Society for loaning us a historic ceremonial bell that was rung during the calling of each veteran’s name in remembrance and honor.
We would also like to thank all of our friends, supporters, and volunteers who came to show their support and stand alongside us during this special tribute. Your presence meant so much to our veterans, families, and staff.
Thank you to Young’s Florist and Kimberlee’s Floral Shop for the beautiful arrangements.
Lastly, thank you to our hardworking and dedicated team members who assisted in every aspect of the program. Your compassion, teamwork, and commitment helped make this tribute truly special for our veterans and their families.
