After caring for back and neck problems in Northeast Ohio for over 20 years, I am now honored to serve as the President of the Western Orthopaedic Foundation, the charitable arm of the Western Orthopaedic Association. I provide expert diagnostic and clinical care for patients with all kinds of back and neck problems: disc degeneration and herniation, spinal stenosis and nerve compression, compression fractures, and deformities, degeneration, or instability of the adult spine. Having served as an investigator for several FDA surgical device trials, I am able to offer the most extensive experience in artificial disc replacement for both lumbar spine and cervical spine disorders. I am honored to be recognized internationally as an expert in the treatment of scoliosis and spinal deformity, fractures and spine trauma, and tumors and infections of the spinal column. Skilled in micro-surgical and minimally invasive techniques, I can offer any of the latest, cutting-edge surgical techniques, if they are what you really need. I have served as a teacher of both neurosurgical and orthopedic spine specialists, as an instructor in innovative surgical techniques, and as an author of both scientific research and instructional courses. My best results come from taking time to listen, and to plan the best care possible with your input and wishes first and foremost in mind. I'm also pleased to work with a strong network of caregivers and surgeons who can address all the other issues that go into making any surgery a success, including physical therapists, pain management specialists, and medical doctors who specialize in spine care. Many of my patients come from chiropractic doctors who have provided excellent non-operative care, and often were the first to recognize the need to see a surgeon. And many of my chiropractic colleagues are the perfect source for the physical therapy and rehabilitation that helps get the best result from any operation we may decide on.
