As Pediatric Occupational and Speech Therapists, we strive to help you and your child achieve their fullest potential through a supportive and empowering partnership. Working closely with community physicians, school districts, and other care providers as part of a team to ensure your child the best possible future. Through therapy and parent/caregiver education, occupational therapy helps children achieve independence, self-help skills, feeding/eating skills, motor skills and motor planning, play skills, social skills, fine motor (hand) skills, handwriting, coordination and strength, sensory processing and regulation, problem solving and visual perceptual/visual motor skills. Diagnoses that are often referred for OT services include but are not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, feeding problems, Torticollis, cardiac problems/surgeries, praxis and coordination problems, developmental delays, fine motor delays, Down Syndrome, neuromuscular impairment, orthopedic impairment, upper extremity problems, and brain tumors/surgeries.
